Ollie Stevens Dies At Home in New Albin

Mrs. Ollie D. Stevens, 93, died April 8 at her home in New Albin after a brief illness.

Services were held at 2 p.m. April 11 at the New Albin Town House chapel. Burial was in the New Albin cemetery. Burke-Thornburg funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were grandchildren: Frank Mead, Patricia Furness, David Steele, Michael, Kevin, and L’Louise Kester.

Ollie Dorothy May was born Dec. 27, 1885 in New Albin to Lewis Francis and Anna Gantenbein May. She married Charles E. Kester April 8, 1903. He died Dec. 26, 1927. She married William E. Stevens Oct. 2, 1929. He died May 16, 1941.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include two daughters, Myrl B. Joslin of Bradenton, FL and Beulah M. Steele of New Albin, two sons, Wayne R. Kester of Davenport and Robert F. Kester of New Albin, one step-son Arthur W. Stevens of Burnsville, MN, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one sister, and one stepson.

Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Richards and Travis of Sundance, WY; Mrs. Leland Treichal and Jeremy of Roscoe, SD; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kester of Omaha, NE; Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Mead, David and Daniel of Friendship, WI; L’Louise Kester and David Steele Jr. of Winona, MN; Mrs. Paul Twite and Mrs. Roy Rogstad of La Crosse, WI; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Stevens of Burnsville, MN; Mrs. Gary B. Knowlton of Shakopee, MN and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gantenbein of Stoddard, WI.
