Elizabeth, Franklin, Albert & Lawrence Doubeck, Died 1944

Four children of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Doubeck died when fire consumed their home north of Waukon. Dead are Betty, 6, Franklin, 5, Albert, 4, and Lawrence, 3.

Note from Submitter: My great-grandfather, James Sires, sang for the children's funeral. In his notes from the day, he wrote:
"Feb. 21, 1944: Tony Doubeck and Irma's 4 children. One girl and 3 boys. Victims of a fire. All in one casket."

The children are buried at English Bench Cemetery.

I am not related and have no further information, but would be interested in learning more about this family, the fire, and what happened to the parents.
