Postville Review, Sat., 18 April 1891.

J. H. Deal and wife have had the sad affliction of losing their little boy, aged six years old, of typhoid pneumonia. Another child was very sick with the same dread disease when the little boy was buried, on Wednesday. They have our sincere sympathy.

The little male child who died of typhoid pneumonia is:

Grover Willard Deal born 22 February 1885 Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Iowa and
died 14 April 1891 Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Iowa.

He was the son of James Harrison Deal and Clarissa Jane Girts.

It is not known where he was buried.

Paternal Grandson of: Johann Caspar Deal and Anna Hirschberger. (Caspar was an Allamakee County resident who owned and operated a mill in Rossville and before that at Ion, in Fairview Township).

Maternal Grandson of: Henry Girts and Sarah Stowers. (In 1860, 1870, and 1880 Henry and family were living in Ludlow Township in Allamakee County, Iowa)
