Mrs. Paine, of Chicago, writes us that her sister, Mrs. Beals, died at 2 o'clock on the morning of Dec. 26th, having passed away painlessly at the last. Mrs. Paine and Mrs. Bettys have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends here in their deep affliction. Mrs. Beals was well known here, having been here with Mrs. Bettys a number of times, and all remember her as a splendid and true woman. She always cared for Mrs. Bettys as tenderly as any one could care for a mother, regardless of her own comfort or convenience. The reward to which she has gone will be great. Her loss is great to this world but it is a glorious gain in bright beyond.
