John Klein, aged 78 years, died at the county farm Monday of old age. A number of years ago Mr. Klein disposed of his small farm northeast of here and with his wife removed to Postville, where, with the assistance of his wife, they attained a livlihood by truck gardening, until about a year and a half ago when feebleness and failing sight disabled him for further work. Finding the income from the labors of the one insufficient for the support of two, John reluctantly left his little home for the county farm. When he went away the faithful spouse made him the promise that when he died she would have him buried here. True to her word, when the sad news came to her "John is dead." with tears falling fast down her wrinkled cheeks, she gave instructions to have him brought back and on Tuesday afternoon, in a little plot in the German cemetery, was laid to rest the mortal remains of John Klien.
