Child Drowns In A Boiler Of Water.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon on Henderson Pairie, a mile and a half southwest of Postville, was cast into deepest gloom a little past 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by the accidental drowning of their only child, Willard, a sweet-faced little fellow 18 months old. The child was playing about a boiler containing 7 inches of rain water, just outside the kitchen door, and losing its balance fell face foremost into the boiler, its head under water and its feet on the outside, in which situation it was unable to make any outcry or extricate itself, and when found a few minutes later by the mother the little one was dead. The heartfelt sympathy of all is with those bereft. Funeral at 2 p.m. today from the Cong. church.
