Postville Review, Fri., 15 April 1904. Condensed from a lengthier obituary.

Rankin, Addia A. - Died of paralysis of the heart, friday, April 8th, 1904, aged 33 years, 9 months, 24 days.

Addie A. Davis was born in Myron, Allamakee county, Ia., June 15, 1870, and there and at Postville, Ia., passed the days of her girlhood. Of the members of the old home remain the father, Jno. Davis, three sisters, Mrs. Wayne Danaldson and Mrs. Jas. Johnson of Prosper, Minn., Mrs. J. A. Hart of Castalia, Ia., and a brother, Jno. O. Davis of Postville, Ia.

On Nov. 24, 1889 she was united in marriage to Wm. O. Rankin who with their daughter, Mabelle May, survives her. The first years of her married life were spent at Myron, Ia., and there their only child Mabelle was born Sept. 30, 1890. In Sept. 1896 they removed to Prosper, Minn., where they have since made their home.

Four days before her death Addie returned from a visit to the bedside of her father, who lies so critically ill at the home of his son at Postville that the brother and sister, Mrs. Hart, are unable to leave him.
