Postville Review, Sat., 15 Dec. 1894.

Mr. Dougherty's child, who we mentioned last week as being sick, died Sunday afternoon and was taken to Lycurges for burial on Tuesday. The parents and other relatives and friends have our sympathy. We understand the cause of death was cerebro spinal meningitis.

Note:

According to the article this child died 9 Dec. 1894. The Woodmansee burial book lists many Dougherty burials in Lycurges cemetery, but only one matches the death year of 1894, James Dougherty, whose death date is given as 6 Oct. 1894. As the article above states this Dougherty child was sick at the time of the previous weeks paper, which would have been Sat., 8 Dec. 1894, it appears that this child is not James. The only remaining Dougherty burial in Lycurges cemetery that is a possible match would be that of Thomas Dougherty who is listed without birth or death dates.
