Postville Review, Fri., 3 Sept. 1909.

The news of the death of Mrs. Warren Stiles of this city on Friday afternoon last, was a shock to that lady's many friends in Postville, most of whom were wholly unpreppared of such announcement. Death came to her as a sweet release from suffering after several weeks of bodily pain superinduced by an accident (missing word) weeks ago in which she suffered the fracture of a hip.

Charlotte B. Van Hooser was born in Jefferson county, New York, May 1, 1841. She came to Iowa in 1864 and was married to Warren Stiles, April 1, 1866. to this union was born one child, a son, who died in infancy.

Mrs. Stiles enjoyed a wide acquaintance thrughout this section, where she had resided for many years. She was a woman of many good qualities of heart and one who could never do too much for her friends.

The sincere sympathy of all is with the husband who is left to travel the remainder of life's pathway alone

The funeral was held from the home on Sunday afternoon last, conducted by Rev. and Mrs. F. W. Peasse and Rev. C. E. Smith. Interment in the Postville cemetery.

Death of the Wife of a Former Resident of Whitesville

Many years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Stiles were residents of this village. The house now owned and occupied by Mrs. O.E. Wildman was built by Mr. Stiles, and the family resided there until their removal to Iowa, about 1857. Mr. Stiles also erected the store building now occupied by Bassett Bros. as a hardware and grocery store. Among the children in the family was a son named Warren, who is loyal to the town of his birth, and has been a subscriber to THE NEWS for several years. His many friend here will read the following from the Postville (Iowa) Review with sincere regret: [following was the same obit as transcribed by Reid Johnson above]
