Sherman Webster, long time resident of Allamakee county, passed away Thursday in his Waukon home after a lengthy illness, complicated by the infirmities of age. The deceased was born in Indiana on June 22, 1864, and came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Webster, at an early age. The greater part of his life was spent in the Yellow river vicinity south of Waukon and he came to Waukon to live only recently. He was married to Margaret Vickery and children surviving are Clarence and Alfred Webster at home, Archie Webster of Postville, and Wilmer Webster of Caledonia, Minn.

Funeral services were held from the Martin Funeral home Saturday afternoon to the Forest Mills church and were conducted by pastor Curtis Webster, a nephew of the deceased. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery.
