Postville Herald, Thur., 4 March 1926.
The people of this city and community were suprised and saddened Tuesday morning when the news was passed about that Miss Lizzie Jacobs had died the evening previous at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Moll, her demise following a few days illness of that dread scourge, pneumonia.
Lizzie was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jacobs. She was born in Logansville, Wisconsin, February 19, 1875, and died in Postville, Iowa, March 1, 1926, aged 51 years years and ten days.
As a little girl she came to this city with her parents and has resided here continuously since. She was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran church under the pastorate of Rev. J. Gass. For more than thirty years she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Moll, where her faithful and painstaking service endeared her to them almost as a daughter and elicited favorable comment from all.
Lizzie was a plain home-spun, friendly girl, a genuine lady always, and by her quiet, sincere and genial manner drew about her a wide circle of admiring friends, who will grieve at her untimely passing and sympathize with those bond to her by closer ties.
She is survived by one brother and three sisters, Henry Jacobs, Mrs. Kate Johnson and Mrs. Anna Wahling of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Miss Dora Jacobs of this city and also by six nieces.
The funeral was held from St. Paul's Lutheran church at two o'clock this afternoon, Rev. E. T. Finck officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
