Mrs. Wilhelmina Kuhse was born May 2, 1851, at Frien Anelam, Pomerania, Germany. On Sept. 27, 1874, she was married to Albert Kuhse. Eleven children were born to this union, three of whom preceded their mother in death. June 10, 1881, she emigrated with her family to the United States, locating at Guttenberg, where the family resided for nine years. From there they moved to the Larrabee farm in Clayton county, where they resided, later moving to near Postville and a few years afterward moving to Postville. She died on Monday evening, Aug. 8, 1921, aged 70 years, three months and six days. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church, and also a member of the Lutheran Ladies' Aid Society.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Albert Kuhse, and the following children; Mrs. Bartha Brandt, Mrs. Frieda Mecklenburg, of Chester; Friedrich Kuhse, near Postville; Rudolph K., of Farmersburg; Mrs. Anna Hoffmann of Tennes, S.D.; Mrs. Augusta Bareis, of Clayton county; Wilhelm Kuhse, of Postville; Mrs. Wilhelmine Meyer, of Clayton county; also forty grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church in this city at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. Schmidt. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
