Funeral services for LeRoy Brink, 64, were held Saturday, Sept. 17, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. David H. Palm officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
LeRoy A. Brink, son of August and Eliza (Jones) Brink, was born April 15, 1919 in Allamakee County, near Waukon. He passed away at his home in Postville Sept. 14, 1983. He was baptized and confirmed at the Old West Paint Creek Church, rural Waukon. He attended the rural schools of Allamakee County.
In 1940 he was married to Ella Mae Wiemersiage. To this union a son, Donald, was born.
On November 8, 1942 LeRoy was married to Dorothy Schultz of Kahoka, MO. To this union 2 daughters, Karen and Caryl, were born.
On January 17, 1955 he was married to Flora McNally at West Union, Ia. To this union 7 children were born.
LeRoy had been employed as a construction worker and had been farming northeast of Decorah before moving to Postville in Dec. 1982.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Orene.
Surviving besides his wife Flora are four sons, Donald of Waterloo; Dwayne "Bud" of Postville; Dean of Decorah; Darryl of Waukon; 6 daughters, Karen (Jerry) Heins of Postville; Caryl (Nathan) Heins of Luana; Deanne (Lyle) Gearhart of Hopkinton; Debra Brink of Palmdale, CA; Darnell Roney of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Dawnita Brink, at home; 2 brothers, Donald of Baraboo, WI and Leo of Waukon; 4 sisters, Edna (Jordeen) Fosaaen of Waukon; Lee Madden of Harpers Ferry; Dorothy (Harold) Bell of Hydesville, CA; and Viola (Kermit) Kruger of Calmar and 23 grandchildren.
