Funeral Services For Elma Berkland

Funeral services for Elma Berkland were held Saturday, July 30, 1983 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Inwood, Iowa. The Rev. Arno Frerichs officiated. Burial was in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Inwood.

Elma Berkland, daughter of Jacob and Oline Berkland, was born October 4, 1895 on the Berkland Homestead. She died July 27, 1983 in Canton, SD.

After receiving her schooling Elma taught in various schools until 1929 when she went to Postville. She taught there for 16 years. In 1945 she returned to the farm home where she lived until death.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Simon Arthur, Gifford and Samuel.

Surviving are 2 brothers, Lawrence and Marvin, both of Inwood; and 4 sisters: Geneva Roti, Alice Berkland, Florence Berkland, all of Canton, SD and Eunice Vegge, Luverne, MN.
