A Young Wife And Mother Passes Away After A Brief Illness.

Clinda M. Gericke, second child of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gericke, was born in Franklin township, Allamakee county, May 22, 1910. She was baptized in early childhood by Rev. R. Kuehne of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Postville. At the age of ten years she came with her parents to Post township and attended the West Groove school. On Sept. 2, 1923, she became a communicant member of St. Paul's church by rite of confirmation under the pastorate of Rev. E. Schmidt. The same year she entered the Postville High School and graduated from same with the class of 1928. Following her graduation she taught for a time in a rural school.

In 1928 she was married to Hall C. Meyer of this city, and to this union a daughter was born on March 11, 1929, at Postville Hospital, where the wife and mother passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, March 17th.

Mrs. Meyer was a woman universally beloved and respected by all and her passing brings a pang of sorrow to many hearts.

She is survived by her husband and baby daughter, Lamona Clinda, her parents and two brothers, Milo and Cloy, and many other relatives and friends, who have the sympathy of all in their affliction.

The funeral was held from St. Paul's Lutheran church in this city at two o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. T. Finck, assisted by Rev. R. F. Galloway of the Community Presbyterian church. Interment in Postville cemetery.
