After an illness of about two years Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Collins passed away May 4, 1925, at 5 o'clock p.m., at her home in Franklin township, Allamakee county, Iowa. She was born Feb. 15, 1857, at Cameron, Monroe county, Ohio. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Collins. November 30, 1894, she was united in marriage with William Collins, which union was blessed with one child which died at the early age of 15 months. She is survived by her husband; two brothers, Samuel and John Atkinson of Cameron, Ohio; and six sisters, Miss Anna Atkinson and Mrs. Matty Pantis of Cameron, Ohio; Mrs. Ella Ward and Mrs. Katy Cleg at Homstead, Penn.; and Mrs. Emma Kempfer of Clarington, Ohio.

The funeral was held from the undertaking rooms of Harris & Schutte at two o'clock p.m., Friday, May 8, Rev. R. Franklin Galloway officiating.

Her brother Samuel came from Cameron and accompanied the remains back to the old home for burial by the side of her parents, who preceded her in death.

Copied as the obit was published. It appears Mary was one of six girls and two boys born to a family whose surname was Atkinson.
