Services Held For Leo Brainard

Leo Martin Brainard, youngest son of Reuben J. and Minnie Louise Brainard, was born in Allamakee county, December 24, 1918 and passed away suddenly on Friday, December 10 at the Veterans Center in Des Moines. He would have been 30 years old December 24.

He became a member of the United Brethern Church in Postville in 1934. On April 27, 1938, he was united in marriage at Waukon to Miss Grace Smith. To this union seven children were born: Carol Joyce, Duane Lee, Betty Ann, Karen Kay, Jackie Lynn, Connie Lou and Linda Lee.

Leo gave 6 months service in the United States Army and received a medical discharge. He has been in ill health for the last 3 years and has been for a period of 3 weeks in the Veterans Center until the time of his passing.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow and the 7 children.

The service was conducted Monday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.at Schultz Funeral Home to the Methodist Church in Monona at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roscoes Jerrell in charge. Burial was in City Cemetery, Monona.
