James C. Webster of Cedar Rapids arrived here on the Wednesday noon Rock Island with the body of his ten-year-old son, Willard, who died at the family home in that city Tuesday morning after a brief illness from diphtheria. The body was taken to the cemetery near Manchester Mills in Post township for burial, Undertaker Harris looking after the interment. Owing to the cause of death the casket could not be opened, and the floral offerings were sealed up with the body.
Mr. and Mrs. Webster were residents of Post township and Postville for years prior to going to Cedar Rapids and old friends will sympathize with them in their affliction. Mr. Webster also tells us that his wife is in a very critical conditon from dropsy and cannot long survive it is feared.

~Transcribers note: I believe the cemetery referred to is the Cleveland cemetery, sometimes called Evergreen cemetery, because it was near the Evergreen country school.
