Mrs. Seward Swenson Passes Away Friday.

Mrs. Andrea Gilbertson Swenson, widow of the late Seward Swenson, passed away at the home of her daughter, Carrie Smith, last Friday, being 85 years old. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by the Rev. J. Ian Fraser of the Postville Community church, and interment was made in Postville cemetery.

Mrs. Swenson was born in Oslo, Norway, November 07, 1853, and came to the United States, arriving in New York City on her 18th birthday. She was married to Seward Swenson Dec. 29, 1871, at Elkader, and for the past sixty years or more the home has been on the same little farm in Franklin township, Allamakee county. Mr. Swenson passed away March 09, 1923.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Smith and Carrie Smith of Postville, and Sarah Grinder, Kenosha, Wis., also nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
