Mrs. W. J. H. Schultz, 75, for many years a resident of this community, passed away at her home in this city Friday and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul's church, the Rev. F. R. Ludwig officiating. Interment was made in Postville cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were John L. Gregg, Joe Schultz, Henry Block, Fred Miene, Otto C. Sander and R. D. Sams.

As Emma Dorthea Busacker, she was born in Conow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, July 8, 1864, the daughter of Henry and Dorothea Brandtman Busacker, and came to the United States when eight years old with her parents, a brother, Henry, and a sister, Minna Welzel. They settled in the vicinity of Garnavillo and the following year the family moved to a farm two miles southwest of Luana in Grand Meadow township where she spent the next several years of her life.

On March 18, 1886, she was married to William J. H. Schultz and to this union were born five children, Arthur, of Postville; Mrs. Amelia Aulerich of Monona; Harvey on the home farm; Elvin, who passed away in 1936, and Mrs. Pauline Benjegerdes, who passed away in 1932.

Mr. and Mrs. Schultz started housekeeping on a farm south of Postville, where they remained for three years before moving to the farm northeast of Postville they had purchased and where they lived until 1923 when they moved to Postville.

Mrs. Schultz was actively interested in St. Paul's church and the Ladies' Aid Society of that congregation.

She is survived by her husband, the three children, Arthur, Harvey and Mrs. Aulerich, ten grandchildren, one great-grandson, her sister, Mrs. Minna Welzel, and numerous other relatives and friends.
