The death of Mrs. Lewis Goeke occurred Thursday afternoon following several months' illness from heart trouble. Sarah Elizabeth Deremore was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Deremore, her mother being Julia Deal. She was born on Village Creek, March 5, 1856, and was 78 years of age.

On November 15, 1893, her marriage to Lewis Goeke took place here in Waukon. On daughter, Mrs. E.M. Phipps, was born to this union, who gave her mother tender care during her last illness. -from the Waukon Democrat

Deceased was well and favorably known in Postville years ago, and those who remember her will learn with regret of her passing.
