Mrs. MARIE SCHROEDER [1839-1915]

Mrs. Marie Schroeder, 76 year old mother of George Schroeder, Mrs. Sophia Kahle and Mrs. Anna Poesch, passed away Sunday and funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon.

Postville Herald newspaper clipping, hand dated Dec. 1915, from my mother's obituary collection.

Mrs. Mary Schroeder was born Nov. 1, 1839, in Eldena, Mecklenberg Schwerin, Germany. In 1868 she came to America with her parents. Sept. 25, 1869, she was married to Henry Schroeder, to which union five children were born, two having died in infancy. She leaves three children - Geo. J. of this city, Mrs. Henry Kahle and Mrs. Chris Poesch. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Kahle, near Postville, Nov. 28, 1915, aged 76 years and 27 days. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Lutheran church, Rev. E. Schmidt officiating. Interment in the Postville Cemetery.
