PALMER EDWARD SCHROEDER 1925-1971
Memorial services are being held today (Wednesday) February 24 at 1:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa for Palmer Edward Schroeder who died Sunday, February 20 at University Hospital, Iowa City following a brief illness. A cremation committal will be held.
Palmer Schroeder, son of Louis F. and Lena Schroeder was born at Postville, August 26, 1925.
Mr. Schroeder was married to Nina Martens October 10, 1948 at Postville. To this union four children were born, Gary Lynn, in the U. S. Navy at Whidbey Island, Washington; Kristy Kay, Vickie Sue and Terry Lee, all at home.
In addition to his wife and four children, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Harry Tyler and Mrs. Fred Palmquist of Postville; five brothers, Dale of Postville; Merlin of Decorah; Elliott of Sumner and Lowell and Norman of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Schroeder was an employee of Sanitary Farm Dairies, Cedar Rapids for 19 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of First Lutheran Church and of the Chauffeurs, Teamsters and Helpers Local No 238.
