Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred Kleinow of Pleasant Ridge were held Monday. Mrs. Kleinow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thornton, was born May 21, 1905, and died with her infant son, March 23rd, 1935, aged 29 years, 10 months and 3 days. She spent her entire life in Allamakee county, except nine years in Chicago, and two years on Pleasant Ridge, where she passed away.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; three daughters, Delores, age 11 years; Jacqueline, age 6; and Devonne, age 4; and one son, Robert, age 2; her father, Charles Thornton of Marquette, and one sister, Mrs. Ruby Bacon of Waukon; and two brothers, Ed. Thornton of Marquette, and Fred Thornton of Waukon; and many close relatives. Her mother preceded her in death when but a child of seven years.
Rev. Stanley F. Kenderdine officated at the funeral. Those attending from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Bacon, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thronton, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hagensick, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Gruber and Miss Doris Bacon of Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hinman of Luana; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Garazin of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bloxham, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bloxham, ad Mrs. Arthur Swanson of Postville. --Death Certificate = Lillian Florence Kleinow. Cause of death "Ruptured Uterus during Labor, Placenta previda". Burial in Pleasant Grove cemetery, McGregor.
