Last Sad Rites.
With sorrowing hearts friends gathered at the home of Judge and Mrs. Fellows Monday at 11 o'clock to pay a final tribute to the memory of Ella S. Fellows, and to share in and if possible aid in alleviating the sorrows of the grief-stricken family over the loss of her who but a few short months ago left home in a joyous happy mood and whose remains were returned to them that morning from the city of Tucson, Arizona, where she died. The thought no doubt came to others assembled about the bier as it came to the writer during the progress of the Rev. Crowder's remarks, of the pleasant social gatherings held in this home, now a home of mourning, in which the deceased had ever taken an active part. Rev. Crowder's remarks on the purity and beautiful life of Ella were approvingly received, and Rev. Stinson's prayer was most consoling to the bereaved. From Albert Lea, Minn., where Ella taught for several years in the public schools came a telegram from the school board, principal and teachers, expressing the most profound sympathy. Out of deference to the wishes of teachers, our public schools were dismissed that all who desired might attend the services at the family home, following which the solemn procession moved to Oak Hill where all that was mortal of Ella was consigned to mother earth.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Beeman, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Nierling, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Beeman, Mrs. Jackson Smith, Mrs. W.T. Gulchirst, Dr. A. T. Stilman, Waukon; Roger Fellows, La Grange, Ill.; Ralph Prescott, New Hampton.

An Affliction to Judge Fellows.
Wherever Judge Fellows, of Lansing, is known, he and his family will have the sympathy of many people in the affliction which came to them on Monday last. His daughter, Miss Ella Fellows, died in Arizona where she had gone with the hope of an improvement in health. Miss Fellows was for some time a teacher in the public schools of Albert Lea and we understand was very successful.--

In recording the death of Miss Ella Fellows, daughter of Judge Fellows, the Waukon Republican gives these particulars:—
Miss Fellows’ health was such that about November 1st of last year it was thought advisable that she should seek a more suitable climate, and accordingly she, accompanied by Miss Lura, went to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where a brother, Wilson R., is located. About three weeks ago another change was decided upon and they then went to Tucson, Arizona, where she was taken with mountain fever and died on Monday. Her ailment when leaving home was tuberculosis. Miss Ella was born in Lansing, January 21, 1870.
