Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Elsie Colvin
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Mrs. Elsie Colvin, 50, who passed away at Independence, September 2. Rev. F. R. Ludwig conducted the rites, which were held at the Schutte Funeral Home at 1:30 and at the church at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Postville cemetery.
Elsie Minna Maria Schnuelle Colvin, daughter of Simon Schnuelle and Lizzie Heins Schnuelle, was born November 29, 1898 in Post township, and departed this life September 2, 1949 at Independence, aged 50 years.
Mrs. Colvin was received into active membership in the Lutheran Church in St. Paul's congregation of Postville.
The deceased was united in marriage with Charles A. Colvin on February 28, 1927.
Mrs. Colvin leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Charles A. Colvin, of Waukon, two daughters, Ruth, Mrs. Arthur Wolf, of West Union, and Gladys, Mrs. Louis Sigafus, of Warren, Illinois; five sons, Arno, Clifford and Hartley, of Postville and LaVern and Ervin of Davenport; two grandchildren, Diana Lee Wolf and Linda Lou Sigafus; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Schnuelle of Postville; six sisters, Clara Schnuelle of Postville, Laura (Mrs. Lewis Ihde) of Castalia, Marie (Mrs. Elmer Ihde) of Ossian, Anna Schnuelle at home, Vila (Mrs. Arthur Herman) of Postville, and Lydia Schnuelle at home; three brothers, Willie, of Postville, Fritz of Castalia and Clarence of Harpers Ferry.
