Mrs. Ila Larson, 73, of Cumberland died suddenly at her home on Mon.,Oct.29, 1979.
Mrs. Larson was born Oct. 25,1906, in Waukon, Ia., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert O. Nelson. She came to the Cumberland area as a young girl, graduated from Cumberland High School in 1924, and worked at Hines Mercantile for 11 years as a bookkeeper. On Feb. 22, 1930, she married Dewey Larson in Minneapolis, who preceded her in death on Feb.8,1957. She was employed at Cumberland High School as a secretary from 1955-1972. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and held offices in the women's group at the church.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Mrs. Walter Butler) of Woodbury, Minn; and one sister, Arlene (Mrs. John L. Becker) of Cumberland; two brothers, Walter Nelson of Cumberland and Chester of Hartland. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Myrtle Cronk.
Funeral services were held on Nov.1 at the First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Max E. Wilhelm officiating, with interment in Lakeside Cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews Jon and Tom Becker; Allen, Alden, and Steve Nelson; and Doug Cronk.
