Rose M. Buege, age 62, of Waukon, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Martin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Rose Marie Sherbonda was born August 7, 1940, in Waukon, the daughter of Leslie and Alice (Collins) Sherbonda. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona, attended St. Patrick's Elementary School, and graduated from MFL High School in 1958. On July 11, 1970, she married Alvin Buege at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon. Rose was an inspector for Northern Engraving in Waukon for twelve years, worked as a store clerk for Kwik Trip, and managed the IOCO Convenience Store for several years. Most recently, she has worked as a housekeeper and aid at the Waukon Living Center.She enjoyed going to garage sales, working crossword puzzles, and going out to eat. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and spending time with Al at their trailer in Harpers Ferry. Survivors include her husband, Alvin of Waukon; a daughter, Tori Bissell of Monona and her special friend, Ray Gress; two grandchildren, Heather and Alicia; and three god children, Shawn Moe, Troy Gress, and Joey Bloxham. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Brad Bissell; and a grandson, Bradley John Bissell. Honorary casketbearers were Brenda A'Hearn, Becky Robinson, Erlyss Cooper, Jeanie Berger, Sandy Genthe, and Dorothy and Gary Gress; Casketbearers were Ron McCormick, Terry Grady, Gary Klein, Shawn Moe, Troy Gress, Stuart Jacobs, Gary Cooper, and Mark Kaeser.
