Lorraine Adele Anderson, 80, of Waukon died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Friday, September 9 at West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church in rural Waukon, with Pastor Josh Skogen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Lorraine Adele Anderson was born October 24, 1930 in Waterville, the daughter of Leonard M. and Emily I. (Bakkum) Anderson. She attended local schools and graduated from Waterville High School in 1948. She was a secretary at the Farm Bureau office in Decorah from 1948 until 1963.
Lorraine lived in Decorah from 1948 until 1963 when she moved back to Waterville to help her parents on the farm. She was active in the West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church as church organist and taught Sunday school. She was an accomplished musician being able to play the piano, organ and accordion.
Survivors include her brother, Everett (Roberta) Anderson of Waukon; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wilbur Anderson.
Casketbearers were Al Bakkum, Scott Anderson, Erik Hagen, Jared Soper, Gary Gilbertson, Scott Ness and John Allen Anderson.The Waukon Standard, September 14, 2011
