Funeral services for Harry Alden Ford, age 68, of Waukon, Iowa were held Tuesday, August 21 at 11 a.m. in the Martin Funeral Home in Waukon with Reverend Larry Olson officiating. Burial with graveside military rites followed in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Martin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Casketbearers were Darrell Ford, Larry Pahl, Steve Fish, Mike Handke, Dave Knox, and Terry Ford. Honorary casketbearers were Harry's grandchildren.

Harry Alden Ford, son of Andrew and Minnie (Vangen) Ford, was born March 10, 1933 in Waukon, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Presbyterian Church and attended Waukon High School. He served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman in 1953, then returned to Waukon where he worked as a mechanic at the Pontiac Garage and at a local service station. On February 26, 1956, Harry married Deve Fish at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa. Harry spent many years doing cement construction work in the area and also worked for the city of Waukon for several years. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He also liked planting a large garden, mowing the yard, and loved to spend time fixing things up around the house.

Harry Alden Ford died Friday, August 17, 2001 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Agnes Thompson, and two brothers Earl Ford and Edward Ford.

Harry is survived by his wife, Deve of Waukon, Iowa; a son Clarke Ford of Waukon, Iowa, and two daughters, Linda McCormick of Waukon, Iowa and Lisa (Brian) Selberg of LaCrescent, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren, Jarad Gatton, Bryce McCormick, Jessica Selberg, Sarah Selberg, and Kayla Selberg; and a sister, Alice Johnson of Waukon, Iowa.
