Rites Held For Roy M. Clark
Roy Melvin Clark, son of Melvin and Ida (Brandes) Clark, was born October 10, 1888 at Omaha, Nebraska. He died May 21, 1957 at his home near Postville at the age of 68 years.
On May 19, 1909 Roy Clark was married to Julia Etta Barnes at Waukon.
Roy Clark is survived by his wife; two sons, Lloyd Leroy Clark of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Lee Clark of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Andy E. Clark of Postville; two grandchildren, Gary Lee and Daryl Deane Clark. Also surviving are four half brothers, John, Lawrence, Wallace and Fred Dundee, all of Waukon; and one half sister, Mrs. Philip Stephens Mae. Two half brothers, Will and Frank, and two half sisters, Lillian and Anna, preceded him in death.
Mr. Clark spent most of his life farming near Postville with the exception of twelve and one half years at Clinton, Minnesota, and six years at Big Stone City, South Dakota.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Bethel United Brethern Church.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home with the Rev. W. T. Martin, pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church, in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
