James Darrel Woodmansee, age 57, of Cottonwood, California, died Sunday, December 31, 1989. He was the son of Boyd and Coila (Robey) Woodmansee, former residents of Waukon, Iowa. James was born in Waukon, Iowa about 1932. In 1943 his family moved to California. James married Nelda Forwick, who survives him along with his daughter, Tarilyn Woodmansee, and a son Kenneth Woodmansee; 2 grandchildren; a sister, Donna Rae Sharp, and two brothers, Loren Dale Woodmansee, and Dennis Boyd Woodmansee. James was preceded in death by his parents.

NOTE OF THE TRANSCRIBER: James was also survived by his aunt Eleen Woodmansee, uncle Dale Robey, and aunt Irma (Robey) Olson, all of Waukon, Iowa, and his aunt Joy (Robey) Powell of Fort Dodge, Iowa, in addition to many cousins. His uncle, Dale Palmer Woodmansee of Waukon, Iowa had passed away about six weeks before James on November 18, 1989.

James and his brother Loren Woodmansee, along with several others, had assisted their uncle Dale Woodmansee in confirming data contained in the original surveys and resurveys of the cemetery records compiled by Dale P. Woodmansee for his book "Allamakee County, Iowa Burial Grounds, 1845-1988."
