Funeral services for Kathryn Lavon Cunningham, age 77, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Ernest Cunningham, Bill Cunningham, Brian Cunningham, Kevin Cunningham, Patrick Cunningham, Colby Cunningham, Mike Cunningham, Tom Cunningham, Fred Fossum, Lance Fossum, Jeremy Johnson, and Justin Johnson.

Kathryn Lavon, daughter of Daniel J. and Kathryn (Waters) Regan, was born August 1, 1921 in Waukon, Iowa. She attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and graduated from the Waukon High School. For a number of years, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Schultz's Variety Store in Waukon, Iowa. On April 24, 1945 she married Leo Cunningham at the St. Pat's Church in Waukon, Iowa.

Kathryn Lavon Cunningham died Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bill Cunningham, a granddaughter, Kristi Megan Cunningham, and a brother, Daniel Regan, who recently passed away on March 31, 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Leo; 2 sons, Joe (Mary) Cunningham and Dan (Sharon) Cunningham; 2 daughters, Ann Fossum and Kay (Virgil) Johnson, all of Waukon, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Cunningham-Case of San Antonio, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lorraine Lyons, Joan (Dick) Takin, and Charlotte (Reg) O'Malley, all of Waterloo, Iowa; and a brother, Donald (Susan) Regan of Omaha, Nebraska.
