Warren E. "Fred" Hamm, 31, of Rose Hill and formerly of Waukon, died Wed., Jan. 10, 2001 at his home in Rose Hill.
Funeral services were held Sat., Jan. 13 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial was at Sixteen Cemetery in rural Monona.
Warren Eugene "Fred" Hamm was born Aug. 3, 1969 in Waukon, the son of Kenneth and Betty (Smith) Hamm. He was baptized at Forest Mills United Methodist Church in rural Postville and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Donnellson. At a young age he moved with his family to Donnellson, where he graduated from Central Lee Community High School in 1987. Following high school he attended several technical schools. He moved with his parents to the Rose Hill, Lovilia area in 1987.
On April 22, 1989 he married Christina Lusch at the Lacey United Methodist Church in Lacey. They were later divorced. Fred was a maintenance worker at Vermeer Manufacturing Co. in Pella for ten years.
A little over two years ago he started his own business, D. A. R. Welding and Repair in Lovilia. He also worked in other welding shops. The past two months he worked for Steve Hamm Logging Co. in Wisconsin.
Fred was a member of Lacey United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything in the outdoors. He liked to watch his brother Wade race cars and often helped with mechanical work. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harmon and Pearl Hamm and Roy and Alberta Smith. Survivors include a son, David Michael Hamm, age 11, and twin nine year-old daughters, Rachel Nicole and Amber Lynn Hamm, all of Oskaloosa; his parents, Kenneth and Betty Hamm of Rose Hill; a brother Wade (Terri) Hamm of Donnellson; a sister, Wanda (Steve) Whaley of Oskaloosa; and his step-grandmother, Gertrude Hamm of Waukon.
Casket bearers were Justin and Brandon Kramer, Derek, Jeff, Mike, Randy, and Bradley Hamm, and Tim Marshall.
