Catholic funeral services for retired farmer, Eilert Kenneth "Oly" Asleson, age 78, of rural Spring Green, Wisconsin and former Allamakee County resident, were held Wednesday, February 7 at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green, Wisconsin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Klubertanz officiating. Burial was in Spring Green Cemetery with Richardson Funeral Home of Spring Green in charge of arrangements.

Eilert Kenneth Asleson, son of Knute and Hattie (Erickson) Asleson, was born February 5, 1911 in rural Waterville, Iowa. On February 1, 1938 he married Rita Pfiffner of Lansing, Iowa. Before moving to Spring Green in 1967, he farmed in the Waterville, Iowa area.

Eilert died Saturday, February 3, 1990 at his home in Spring Green, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 sisters, Alice Rood, Gena Rood, Martha Nelson, and Esther Hermanson.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; 8 sons, Kenneth Asleson of Springville, Iowa, Ronald Asleson of Dubuque, Iowa, Richard Asleson of Monona, Iowa, Gary Asleson of Ravenswood, West Virginia, Dale Asleson of Wuppertal, West Germany, David Asleson of Spring Green, Wisconsin, James Asleson of Cornelius, North Carolina, and Jerry Asleson of Madison, Wisconsin; 5 daughters, Patricia (Keith) Hamm of Dubuque, Iowa, Rose Asleson of Madison, Wisconsin, Ruth (Lawrence ) Birkner of Los Angeles, California, Kathy (Harold) Gies of Lone Rock, Wisconsin, and Mary (Michael) Lieck of Madison, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel (Clem) Riek of Lansing, Iowa, and a brother Albert Asleson of Waterville, Iowa.
