Funeral services for Thorine A. Christianson, age 99, of Waukon, Iowa were held Wednesday, December 27 at 1 p.m. at the Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville, Iowa with Pastor Peter Samuelson officiating. Burial was in the Old East Paint Creek Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were George Huffey, Bob Thompson, Melbourne Evanson, Norman Rema, Raymond Odegaard, and Boyd Jeglum. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jim Christianson, Carl Christianson, Richard Christianson, Steven Christianson, Richard Marti, and Robert Marti.

Thorine A., daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Olson) Anderson, was born November 4, 1890 near Waterville, Iowa in Allamakee County. She attended rural Waterville schools. On February 22, 1909, she was united in marriage with Carl A. Christianson at the parsonage at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran church. Thorine was a homemaker, and a member of the Naomi Circle, and WELCA at Old East Paint Creek Church.

Thorine A. Christianson died Friday, December 22, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa, where she had been a resident since 1981. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl A.Christianson, who died April 22, 1959; a daughter, Thelma and two brothers, Daniel Anderson and Oscar Anderson.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Lillian Christianson of Waukon, Iowa, Ellen Marti of Luana, Iowa, and Verna (Victor) Samb of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; 2 sons, Charles Christianson of Waterville, Iowa and Edwin Christianson of Waukon, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
