Funeral services for Lillian Erickson were held Thursday, July 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Rossville Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Jacobson officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Pallbearers were Paul Erickson, Terry Oleson, Marvin Sires, Richard Sandry, James Hager, and Howard Dickson. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Oleson and Ben Erickson.

Lillian Edna, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Hirth) Sandry, was born February 20, 1897 in Center Township, Allamakee County, Iowa, near Churchtown, on her parents farm. Lillian attended the Churchtown school through the 8th grade. She was a homemaker, nurses aid in the nursery at Veterans Memorial Hospital for several years and did private housekeeping for several years. She was united in marriage to Jens Erickson on February 24, 1921 at Waukon, Iowa.

Jens and Lillian farmed north of Monona for 20 years, lived in Rossville for five years, lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Anita, for a number of years, lived at Northgate Manor in Waukon, Iowa in 1987, and has lived at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa since January of 1989. Lillian was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church in Rossville, Iowa. She was a member of the ladies organizations at the Rossville Church and played the piano there. She still played the piano even after arthritis had crippled her fingers. Lillian enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and music.

Lillian died on July 2, 1990 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Jens, who died April 18, 1949; 1 brother, Willard Sandry, and 4 sisters, Antoinette Sires, Lucille Bieber, Elnora Feuerhelm, and Mabel Shogren.

She is survived by her son Joseph "Joe" Jens Erickson and her daughter-in-law Mary Anita Erickson of Monona, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Susan Oleson, Paul Erickson, and Francis Erickson; 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Elsie Hager of Waukon, Iowa.
