Memorial services for Lorraine Yund, age 71, of Minneapolis, Minnesota were held Tuesday, July 8 at Cremation Society Chapel in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Clergy Chaplain Kathleen Burns officiating. A private interment was held at Fort Snelling, Minnesota National Cemetery.

Lorraine was born November 10, 1925 in Center Township, Lansing, Iowa to Herbert and Selma (Marti) Hartong. Lorraine attended local schools and graduated from the Waukon High School in 1943. After graduation she went to Minneapolis where she worked at Cavanaugh Insurance Company. On June 19, 1948 she married Charles Yund in Minneapolis, Minnesota where they lived the rest of their married life.

Lorraine died July 4, 1997 at Northern Memorial Center in Minneapolis after suffering a fall in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her husband, Charles, a son Steve (Cindy) Yund and a daughter, Sandra (Denny) Triplett; 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Schneider of Waukon, Iowa and a brother Dale (Judy) Hartong of Lansing, Iowa.
