Funeral services were set for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10 for Clifton Alfred Yearous, age 82, of Waukon, Iowa at the First Baptist Church in Waukon, Iowa with the Rev. Rueben Grueneich officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery with arrangements by the Martin Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be Delbert Timmerman, Lavern Timmerman, and Robert Timmerman, Stanley Yearous, Robert Hansmeier, and Ralph Reppe.

Clifton Alfred Yearous was born October 16, 1914 on the rural Elkader, Iowa farm of his parents, Clifton C. and Louise (Schmidt) Yearous. He attended rural school near Marquette, Iowa. On August 31, 1954 he married Arlene Timmerman at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church parsonage in Waukon, Iowa. Cliff farmed in French Creek Township near Churchtown from 1939-1979 when he retired and they moved to their North Fork home in Ludlow Township in Allamakee County, Iowa. Cliff also worked for a time as an electrician and as custodian for Allamakee Implement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waukon, Iowa.

Clifford died Sunday, April 6, 1997 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ernest Yearous.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; 2 sons, Wyatt (Debra) Yearous, Clay (Darlene) Yearous, all of Waukon, Iowa and a daughter Sarah Yearous of Walsh, Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers, August Yearous of Wadena, Iowa and William (Alo) Yearous of Elgin, Iowa.
