Ella Hoth
Long time Postville resident Ella Hoth died September 13 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. David R. Nelson officiated.
The daughter of Fred J. and Charlotte Schroeder Meier, Ella was born May 24, 1902 at Postville. She was baptized June 29, 1902 and confirmed April 1, 1917 as a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. She was a former member of the LCW, the Rebecca Lodge and a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Married February 2, 1923 to Elmer Hoth, the couple resided in Postville with the exception of two years when they lived in Waukon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers: Fred, William, Henry L., Louis H., Chris and Eddie; two sisters: Mrs. Paul (Helen) Koevenig and Mrs. Ed (Mary) Schlee.
Surviving are two sons, Charles of Postville and John of Salix and three grandchildren.
Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
