Funeral services for Karen Lee Carman, age 52, were held Monday, November 18, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Terrance P. Hennesy officiated. Schutte Funeral Home of Postville, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were John O. Falb, Leon Szabo, Wayne Schroeder, Donald Kerr, Gerald "Pete" Meyer, Eldean Drewes, and Charles Fishback.

Karen Lee, daughter of Aaron Burr and Helene (Martindale) Cook, was born April 12, 1939 at Postville, Iowa. She died Wednesday, November 13, 1991 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was baptized and confirmed in Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. She graduated from the Postville High School in 1957. She was a graduate of an airline school in Omaha, Nebraska. She was employed by Northwest Orient Airlines in Chicago, Illinois. On June 8, 1960 she was married to Garry W. Carman in the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. They were the parents of two children. Karen had been employed as a credit manager for Lerner's and Froug's in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Reeds and Son Furniture in Los Angeles, California. The family had also lived in Annapolis, Maryland and New York City, New York. They were presently living in Tulsa.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Helene who died September 12, 1985, an uncle, Robert Martindale, and an aunt, Jeannette Cook.

Surviving are her husband, Garry; a son, Gregory Carman and a daughter, Janet Carman of Arlington, Texas; her father A. Burr Cook of Postville, Iowa; a sister, Kaye (Ronald) Olson of Minnetonka, Minnesota; a nephew, Chad Olson and a niece, Teresa Olson; 2 uncles Donald (Iva) Martindale of Oelwein, Iowa and Everett Cook of Postville, Iowa; 2 aunts, Gerene Martindale of Postville, Iowa and Elsie Geiger of Waterloo, Iowa; 5 brothers-in-law, Larry Carman, Bruce Carman, and Delbert Carman, Harold Williams, and Fred Solomon and 6 sisters-in-law, Patsy Day, Phyllis Williams, Betty Jean Solomon, Roberta Carman, Irene Carman, and Ruby Carman; and 23 nieces and nephews.
