Roy G. Wuennecke, age 80, of New Albin, Iowa died Thursday, September 17, 1998 at Franciscan-Skemp Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was born January 30, 1918 in Winnebago Valley, Minnesota to August and Louise (Staggemeyer) Wuennecke. He farmed on the home farm in rural New Albin for many years and also had a salvage business in New Albin, Iowa. Roy was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheatland. On December 19, 1965 he married Lillian (Meyer) Breeser in Winona, Minnesota. In August, 1998, they sold the farm and moved to LaCrescent, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20 at St. John's UCC, Wheatland. The Rev. Glen Holland officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Haugen-Roble-Jandt of Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; a step-daughter, Lila (Larry) Cina of Viroqua, Wisconsin, 4 sons: Gilman (Louise) Breeser of LaCrescent, Minnesota, Gerald (Delores) Breeser of New Albin, Iowa, Joyce Breeser of New Albin, Iowa, and Randy Breeser of Onalaska, Wisconsin; 12 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
