Friends of Edwin J. Chickering, local photographer, were shocked to learn of his death Tuesday afternoon at the home of Fred Jones, nephew of Mrs. Chickering. He contracted the flu and was ill for several days last week, but was able to be downtown Saturday. Sunday night he suffered a paralytic stroke, followed by double pneumonia which caused his demise.

Mr Chickering was an only child and was born in Paducah, Kentucky, July 1, 1882 and was in his 55th year. He was twice married and to the first union an only son Sidney, now residing at Winona Minn. was born, On April 25 1921 his marriage to Miss Lucinda Jones of Waukon, took place at Decorah, who survives him with his son and two grandchildren.

Deceased life work was devoted to photography and the greater part of his time for 25 years was spent here in Waukon.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at Martin Bros. funeral parlors with burial in Oakland cemetary
