Webb, age 68, a lifelong resident of Postville, Iowa, passed away Monday morning, February 25, 1946 in her home following a lingering illness of several years duration. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church with the Rev. R. F. Galloway of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, former pastor of the church officiating. Interment will be in the Postville cemetery.
Ruby Webb was born on December 17, 1877, the daughter of Winfield S. and Ellen (Clark) Webster. She attended the local schools and after her graduation from high school, she attended the state teachers college in Cedar Falls, Iowa and Oberlin College in Ohio. On November 2, 1915, she was married to Herman D. Webb of this city and continued to make Postville their home. They did not have any children.
Ruby was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Stars, both of which she was at all times active. She taught Sunday School classes for 52 years, specializing in the primary departments and endeared herself to all the community through her untiring work. She and Herman spent the winter months in Long Beach, California.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roy Webster.
She is survived by her husband, Herman; one brother Arthur C. Webster of Postville, Iowa and one nephew, A. Bruce Webster, who is serving with the army in Alaska.
