Dorothy Anna Marie Wilke, 95, Postville, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, Iowa. Dorothy was born on December 10, 1915, in McGregor, Iowa, to George and Ida (Reinhart) Meana. She attended school in McGregor, Iowa, as well as in Minneapolis, MN.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Wilson "Fuzzy" Wilke on September 21, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. Dorothy and Wilson loved spending time together, especially fishing. Wilson passed away on August 11, 1989.
Dorothy worked for the Dry Cleaner in Postville, Iowa, for many years. She was a resident at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa, at the time of her passing and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. She enjoyed doing needle work, crocheting, embroidering, playing cards and spending time with her family. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Walter (Diane) Wilke, OR; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Edward Meana; one sister, Mildred Knapp and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ida Meana; her husband, Wilson "Fuzzy" Wilke; two brothers, Lloyd and George Meana and one sister, Esther Burroughs.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Steve Brackett will officiate.
Inurnment will follow in the Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa, at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, from 12 - 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
