Mrs. Marcel E. Verbrugghen, nee Ruth Koefod, 57, of Waukon, Iowa died October 1 according to word received by Bemidji friends. Mrs. Verbrugghen was born in Baudette, January 20, 1913, the daughter of the late Judge S.M. Koefod and Mrs. Koefod, who now lives at Glenwood. She was a graduate of the Bemidji high school and Bemidji State College. Her marriage to Mr. Verbrugghen took place at Bemidji June 29, 1935.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Alice Ruth Anthony of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Victor of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Adrien of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Christopher Anthony, Kasandra and Katerina Verbrugghen; her mother, Mrs. Ruth Koefod of Glenwood; a brother, Dr. Paul Koefod, Gainesville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Rachel Stowe of New York City.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Waukon and a memorial service at Glenwood.
