Elmer F. Heins

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, for Elmer F. Heins who died September 15 at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Elmer was the son of Louis and Louise Meiske Heins. He was born February 26, 1902 by Pastor Bockelmann and confirmed April 1, 1917 by Pastor Schmidt. He remained a member of the congregation.

Mr. Heins worked on the farm until 1950, worked for nine years at the Postville Lumber Company and, until his recent illness, was doing carpenter work.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Victor and Louis and a sister Ruby.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lester (Lily) Martins of Oelwein and Mrs. Eli (Esther) Eberling of Postville; two brothers, Lester of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Virgil of Oelwein and 12 nieces and nephews.
