Fremont J. Kruse, age 76, of New Albin, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 22, 1987 in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at St. Luke's UCC. The Rev. Lloyd Fried officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Haugen-Roble Funeral Home Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements.

Fremont was born July 13, 1911 in New Albin, Iowa to William and Bertha (Meyer) Kruse. He married Edna Maria Harms on June 19, 1940 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He was a retired farmer and had worked at Staggemeyer Stave Mill, Caledonia, Minnesota, as well as being night watchman at Northern Engraving in Spring Grove, Minnesota. He was a lifetime resident of the Eitzen-New Albin area and a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Eitzen.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; 2 daughters, Sandra Good of Decorah, Iowa and Susan Tostenson of Eitzen, Minnesota; 5 grandsons and a sister, Vernetta Stehr of Waukon, Iowa.
