Willa Y. Herman, age 68, of Waukon, Iowa died Monday September 15 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Services were held Wednesday September 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Leo Murphy, Bob O'Neill, Bob Curtin, Church Pettingill, Howard Van Ruler, and Karl Mosier.

A lifetime area resident, she was born March 19, 1918 in Waukon, Iowa to Leonard and Florence (Carpenter) Herman. She attended Waukon High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Searchlight Club, and Sunday School treasurer. She worked for over 20 years in the church office.

She is survived by cousins.
