Emily Beck, age 81, died Monday, September 1, 1986 at her home in Lansing, Iowa. Services were held Thursday, September 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lansing, Iowa with Pastor Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing, Iowa in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Charles Verdon, Everett Stahl, Damon Shepherd, Willard Protsman, Mitt Wilde and Ralph Bartels.

Emily was born April 19, 1905 in Lansing, Iowa to Hector and Emma (Gerkey) Kehr. She married Walter Beck on June 5, 1936. He died in April 1962. She was a housewife and a member of the United Methodist Church in Lansing. She had worked for the Lansing Company and at Kreiger's Variety Store in Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, and a sister in infancy.

Survivors include a son Robert Beck of
Waverly, Iowa, and 2 daughters, Carolyn Welsh of Waukon, Iowa and Janice Troendle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Clara Kehr of Lansing, Iowa and Eva Bulman of Newton, Iowa.
